Build Her Co.

Expanding women’s participation and leadership in the skilled trades.
Build Skills. Build Confidence. Build Her.

Program Overview

Build Her Co. is a women-focused workforce development and leadership initiative delivered under the Black Enterprise & Trades Network (BETN). The program is designed to increase participation, retention, and advancement of women within construction and skilled trades while addressing structural barriers that limit long-term career sustainability.

The program responds directly to documented labor market demand and persistent gender participation gaps. While women represent nearly 48% of Canada’s overall labour force, they account for approximately 13% of the construction workforce and just 12% of skilled trades apprentices.
